Goa, June 27 -- The Goa Pradesh Congress Committee (GPCC) has reiterated its commitment to forging a united opposition front against the BJP ahead of upcoming elections, with party president Girish Chodankar announcing that the Congress will initiate alliance discussions with like-minded political parties.

Speaking after a meeting of the Congress Political Affairs Committee, Chodankar said the issue of forming an opposition alliance was deliberated in detail and received unanimous support from all committee members.

He stated that there was a consensus that all political parties and individuals committed to defeating the BJP should come together and contest elections unitedly.
