Goa, May 18 -- Concerns have surfaced over a possible increase in electricity bills after reports indicated that the Central Electricity Authority (CEA) has recommended a revision in fixed power charges following recent fuel price hikes.

According to reports, the proposal includes suggested changes to multiple components of electricity billing, including fixed charges, energy charges, meter charges and Fuel Adjustment Cost (FAC)-related expenses.

The recommendation is expected to be placed before the Joint Electricity Regulatory Commission (JERC) for consideration and approval.
