Goa, Oct. 30 -- Chief Minister Pramod Sawant has directed officials to expedite financial assistance to vendors affected by the massive fire at Vasco's New Modern Municipal Market. He has also instructed authorities to identify a suitable location for the rehabilitation of the affected traders and immediately initiate the reconstruction of the damaged market.

The Chief Minister further ordered a thorough investigation into the cause of the fire. He also called for an inter-departmental inquiry into alleged delays in the emergency response, including the role of the Fire Services and Disaster Management departments.
