Goa, July 31 -- Chief Minister Pramod Sawant on Thursday defended the government's decision to convene a three-day Monsoon Session of the Goa Legislative Assembly, saying the duration had been fixed after as sessing the volume of legislative business before the House. "The session has been decided accord ing to the business," Sawant said while responding to criticism over the session, which is scheduled to be held from August 31 to September 2.

The Chief Minister maintained that three sitting days would be sufficient to transact the government's legislative agenda and other official business.
