Goa, June 3 -- Restoration work on a bundh at Cavelossim is currently underway following requests from local farmers who rely on the structure for access to their agricultural fields.

According to sources, around 12 farmers had approached the Cavelossim Panchayat seeking urgent repairs to the bundh, which is used for the movement of farming machinery, including tractors and other agricultural equipment.

The existing bundh had reportedly deteriorated over time and had become structurally weak. Farmers also pointed out that the bundh was too low, causing it to be submerged during high tides and making access to farmlands difficult.
