Canacona, June 18 -- Continuing their crackdown on drug-related offences, Canacona Police conducted an operation under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act and arrested a 32-year-old waiter after allegedly seizing 26.9 grams of charas from his possession.

The accused has been identified as Sidhlingeshwar Malleshappa Basgi, a native of Bagalkot district in Karnataka, who was employed as a waiter at Mickky's Restaurant at Patnem Beach.

According to police, the accused was apprehended during a targeted anti-narcotics raid, during which officers allegedly recovered 26.9 grams of charas. A case has been registered, and further investigation is underway to ascertain the source of the contraband and whether the accused had...
