Goa, July 14 -- A 23-year-old woman from Uttar Pradesh has alleged that she was lured to Goa on the pretext of a job offer before being raped, wrongfully confined and threatened by the accused.

According to Calangute Police, an FIR was registered on July 12 following the woman's complaint. The accused was arrested on July 13 in compliance with Supreme Court guidelines.

Police have refuted allegations that they had refused to register the complaint, stating that due legal procedure was followed. Further investigation into the case is currently underway.
