Goa, Aug. 18 -- The Catholic Association of Goa (CAG) and Council for Social Justice and Peace (CSJP), led by Fr. Savio Fernandes and Cyril Fernandes, met Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge and submitted a Joint Memorandum opposing the proposed amendments to the Foreign Contribution (Regulation) Act (FCRA).

The delegation raised concerns that the proposed amendments could adversely affect civil society and charitable organisations. Kharge gave the delegation a patient hearing and assured support against arbitrary provisions that could affect democratic freedoms and constitutional rights.
