What began as a viral social media video showing a young man al legedly dumping cardboard boxes by the roadside end ed in tragedy less than 48 hours later, leaving a griev ing family and disturbing questions about the role of online vigilantism, police conduct and institutional insensitivity. Samuel D Braganza, a 23-year-old Economics stu dent from Guansavaddo, Mapusa, allegedly died by suicide late Thursday night after enduring a day of hu miliation, fear and mental anguish triggered by a viral video and subsequent po lice action over what many have described as a petty civic offence.
