Bombay High Court Stays Key Notification on Goa ST Political Reservation
Goa, Oct. 29 -- The Bombay High Court at Goa has stayed a notification issued under Section 3 of the Readjustment of Representation of Scheduled Tribes in Assembly Constituencies of the State of Goa Act, 2025. This court stay effectively halts the planned publication of estimated Scheduled Tribe (ST) population figures across the state. Deputy Solicitor General of India Pravin Faldesai stated that the Central Government will determine its next legal remedies once the full court order is officially uploaded. He noted that the Goa Government is not a party to this petition. The ruling introduces fresh uncertainty into Goa's ongoing ST political reservation process.
