Goa, July 20 -- The Bombay High Court at Goa has directed the Superintendent of Police (North) to personally oversee the investigation into the assault on advocate Ankur Kumar in Morjim. Taking note of the lawyer's serious injuries, including eye and skull fractures, the court asked investigators to examine whether attempt to murder charges under Section 109 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) are applicable. The court also criticised delays in providing police protection during a court-ordered demolition and instructed Coastal Regulation Zone (CRZ) authorities to submit a detailed compliance report with photographs before the next hearing.
