Goa, Aug. 6 -- The Bombay High Court has convicted senior journalist and former Tehelka editor-in-chief Tarun Tejpal in the 2013 rape case involving a former junior colleague.

In its judgment, the High Court set aside the trial court's earlier order acquitting Tejpal, holding him guilty of the charges. The ruling overturns the acquittal that had been granted by the trial court in the high-profile case.

The case stems from allegations made by a junior colleague, who accused Tejpal of raping her during an event in Goa in 2013. The matter had attracted nationwide attention and became one of India's most prominent cases involving allegations of sexual assault in the workplace.
