Goa, May 27 -- A dead body was found floating in the Mandovi River near the offshore vessel of Big Daddy Casino in Panjim on Tuesday morning, triggering an emergency response from the Goa Fire and Emergency Services.

According to fire officials, the incident was reported at around 10:31 am, following which personnel from the Panaji Fire Station rushed to the location to carry out the recovery operation.

The body was spotted floating in the river near the casino vessel, and rescue personnel were deployed to retrieve it from the water.

Further details regarding the identity of the deceased and the cause of death were not immediately available. Police investigation into the incident is underway.
