Goa, June 1 -- Bethany Convent High School, Salcete, has earned national recognition for its efforts in promoting a tobacco-free lifestyle among students, receiving a prestigious award under the "School Challenge: Towards Tobacco-Free Generation" initiative.

The school was selected from among nearly 17,000 schools that participated across India in the campaign organised by the Government of India's Ministry of Education and the Department of School Education and Literacy. The award was presented at a ceremony held at Novotel, New Delhi, on May 29, 2026.
