Goa, July 1 -- Desilting and beautification project aims to revive the lake, enhance hygiene and create a scenic public space.

The Water Resources Department has commenced the desilting and beautification of Belabal Lake near Orulem Cross in Vasco, with the project being carried out in the presence of Vasco MLA Krishna V. Salkar.

The restoration initiative is aimed at reviving the lake's natural ecosystem by improving water quality, enhancing hygiene and increasing the water-holding capacity of the water body. Officials said the project is expected to restore the lake's ecological value while improving its overall appearance.
