Goa, Aug. 1 -- At least 57 migrants have died while attempting to cross from Morocco into the Spanish enclave of Ceuta, as Spain grapples with a worsening border crisis that has prompted Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez to visit the region.

According to Ceuta's regional president, Juan Jesus Vivas, nearly 60,000 migrants entered the Spanish enclave from Morocco within the past 24 hours. The sudden influx has triggered clashes between security personnel and migrants attempting to enter the territory.

Rachid Sbihi, head of a local workers' association representing Civil Guard officers, said several of the victims drowned while trying to reach Ceuta by sea. Others reportedly lost their lives in a stampede near the breakwater fence at Tarajal B...
