Goa, May 2 -- The Trinamool Congress (TMC) escalated tensions on Saturday by filing a complaint with the Election Commission of India (ECI). They alleged unauthorized sorting of postal ballot covers at a Kolkata EVM strongroom. TMC workers outside Khudiram Anushilan Kendra spotted eight trunks arriving at 4 a.m., moved to a CCTV-free room-sparking rigging fears amid West Bengal's polls.
In South 24 Parganas, repolling began at 7 a.m. across 15 booths: 11 in Magrahat Paschim and four in Diamond Harbour. Ordered post-April 29 irregularities, it runs till 6 p.m. Special Electoral Roll Observer Subrata Gupta promised scaled-up security with "enhanced vigilance" to ensure fairness.
