Goa, April 9 -- Polling witnessed strong momentum across Assam, Kerala and Puducherry on Thursday, with voter turnout figures indicating enthusiastic participation by the evening.
Among the three regions, Puducherry recorded the highest turnout at 86.92 per cent, followed by Assam at 84.42 per cent and Kerala at 75.01 per cent, according to official data.
Assam crossed its 2021 Assembly election turnout by 5 pm, registering 84.42 per cent voting across all 126 constituencies compared to 82.04 per cent in the previous polls. The BJP-led NDA is seeking a third straight term, while Congress is attempting a comeback after ten years. Dalgaon saw the highest turnout at 94.57 per cent, while Amri recorded the lowest at 70.40 per cent.
