Goa, Sept. 22 -- India have won seven medals at the 2026 Asian Games in Aichi-Nagoya, with the tally currently standing at one gold, four silver and two bronze medals.

The Indian contingent has made an early impact at the continental multi-sport event, which began on September 19 and is scheduled to conclude on October 4. Around 500 Indian athletes are competing across several disciplines at the Games, which feature 469 medal events across 43 sports and 71 disciplines.

India's first gold medal of the Games came through the women's cricket team. The team defeated Sri Lanka in the final to retain its Asian Games title and give India its first gold of the 2026 edition.
