Goa, April 18 -- Ravichandran Ashwin believes Sanju Samson has the potential to captain Chennai Super Kings in the future, but insists that success will depend on Samson creating his own identity.

Speaking about CSK's leadership evolution, Ashwin pointed out that the transition has been underway for several years. He traced it back to Ravindra Jadeja's brief stint as captain, which did not yield the desired results.
