Goa, July 2 -- The European T20 Premier League (ETPL) moved a step closer to its inaugural season after successfully conducting its first-ever player draft on Wednesday. Players from Ireland, Scotland and the Netherlands were distributed among the tournament's six franchises, giving each side a balanced local core ahead of the competition, which is scheduled to run from August 26 to September 20.

The draft followed the league's equal-allocation model, with exactly 12 players each from Ireland, Scotland and the Netherlands selected across the franchises. The local talent will now join an impressive list of international stars, creating a strong mix of homegrown and overseas players for the league's debut edition.
