Anjuna Rental Operators Push Back Against Intrusive Police Data Mandate
Goa, Oct. 31 -- A delegation of local vehicle rental operators in Anjuna has raised strong objections against a new police directive demanding detailed personal records-including passport and visa numbers-for foreign tourists. Spearheaded by Rohan Naik and Yogesh Gawde, the group clarified that they already comply with existing Transport Department data-logging requirements. They condemned late-night home inspections by law enforcement as unwarranted harassment and warned authorities of escalating to statewide demonstrations if administrative pressure and intrusive verification checks are not halted immediately.
