Goa, Aug. 18 -- Congress leader Amit Patkar has demanded that the Goa government regularise around 220 workers employed on a temporary basis with the Goa Horticulture Corporation Limited for nearly two decades.

Patkar said the workers have been serving the corporation for around 20 years and play a key role in managing its network of approximately 1,200 Horticulture outlets and 39 routes across Goa.

He urged the government to fulfil the workers' long-pending demands and grant them permanent status, citing their prolonged service and contribution to the functioning of the corporation.

Patkar called on the government to take necessary steps to address the workers' concerns and provide them with job security.
