Goa, Oct. 10 -- Ami Goenche Rakhandar staged a protest at Azad Maidan, demanding the scrapping of the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls and the resignation of Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar.

The protesters also called for a ban on Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs) and demanded measures to safeguard voter identity.

A large police force was deployed at the protest site as the demonstration took place. The security arrangements were put in place to maintain law and order during the gathering.
