Goa, Aug. 7 -- Marvel Studios is gradually assembling the cast for its highly anticipated X-Men reboot, with several familiar young stars reportedly taking on iconic mutant roles. The new film is expected to introduce a fresh generation of characters into the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Kit Connor is reportedly set to play Scott Summers/Cyclops, the powerful mutant and longtime X-Men leader known for his optic blasts. The role would mark Connor's MCU debut after his breakout performance in Heartstopper.

Sadie Sink, best known for Stranger Things, is reportedly playing Jean Grey, one of Marvel's most powerful telepaths and a key X-Men character.
