Goa, Aug. 13 -- Ajinkya Rahane is all set to begin a new chapter in his cricket career, this time with a microphone in hand.

The former India captain will make his Test commentary debut for Sony Sports Network during India's upcoming two-match series against Sri Lanka, with the first Test scheduled to begin on August 15 in Galle.

Sony Sports welcomed Rahane to its commentary team through a social media post, describing his move as a new home for his cricketing expertise and welcoming him to its "Extraaa Innings" panel.

The new role comes only weeks after Rahane announced his retirement from all forms of cricket on July 30, bringing an end to an international career that lasted more than a decade.
