Goa, Aug. 11 -- Transport Minister Mauvin Godinho has said that AI-based traffic cameras installed in Goa are still in the trial phase, while the number of traffic violations detected has declined to a few hundred, indicating improved compliance among motorists.

Godinho said the reduction in violations suggests that motorists are becoming more conscious of traffic rules and regulations following the introduction of the camera-based monitoring system.

He also pointed out that motorists are increasingly visiting Pollution Under Control (PUC) centres and obtaining mandatory third-party insurance, which he said reflects greater compliance with vehicle-related regulations.
