Goa, Aug. 14 -- For 75 years, the Priolkar family's Ganesh Chitrashala at Mhalbhat in Margao has been keeping alive the traditional art of handcrafted Ganesh idol-making, serving generations of devotees across Goa.

Ganesh idol maker Suryakant V. Priolkar continues the family's longstanding tradition, following a craft that began with his father's workshop three-quarters of a century ago. The Chitrashala is regarded as one of the oldest of its kind in Margao and has become an enduring part of the city's cultural heritage.
