Goa, July 28 -- A total of 28 people were rescued in two separate incidents involving fishing boats in distress off the Benaulim and Colva coasts on Tuesday, thanks to the swift response of lifeguards.

In the first incident, a small fishing boat capsized off Benaulim beach. All 13 persons on board were safely rescued by lifeguards and brought ashore without any reported injuries.

In the second incident, a fishing boat carrying 15 people began taking in water off Colva beach. Lifeguards rushed to the spot and successfully rescued all those on board before escorting them safely to the shore.
