Goa, June 10 -- A total of 28 tourists from Kerala were treated for suspected food poisoning at the South Goa District Hospital (SGDH) on June 9 following what hospital authorities described as a mass casualty incident.

Speaking on the matter, Dr. Rajendra Borkar, Superintendent of South Goa District Hospital, said the affected group had visited Goa as tourists and reportedly fell ill after consuming food in Old Goa.

According to Dr. Borkar, 25 of the 28 patients responded well to treatment and were discharged after receiving the necessary medical care. Three others were admitted for observation and remained in stable condition.
