Goa, June 30 -- A 20-year-old man, identified as a person of interest in the Parye-Sattari area, was arrested following allegations of sexual assault involving a 15-year-old girl from Sankhali. Local police registered a case under Section 65(1) of the BNS, Section 8(2) of the Goa Children's Act, and Sections 4, 6 and 8 of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act.

Authorities said the accused was taken into custody after a complaint was received and an initial investigation indicated possible violations of child protection and criminal statutes. The arrested individual is expected to be produced before the appropriate court as the probe continues.
