Goa, Aug. 9 -- Security preparations have been intensified around Delhi's Red Fort ahead of Independence Day, with around 20,000 personnel set to be deployed for Prime Minister Narendra Modi's August 15 address.

The multi-layered security arrangement includes Delhi Police personnel from the Traffic Unit, North District, local police, PCR, Special Branch and Special Cell, along with paramilitary forces, commandos and NSG teams. Snipers and specialised 'hit teams' will also be stationed at strategic locations, while an NDRF force and Quick Reaction Teams will remain ready to respond to emergencies.
