Goa, Nov. 4 -- A Nepal-bound bus travelling from Mapusa was detained near Bodgeshwar Temple after authorities reportedly found 148 passengers crammed into a vehicle with a seating capacity of just 48.

According to reports, the bus was carrying more than three times its permitted seating capacity, raising serious concerns over passenger safety and compliance with transport regulations.

Passengers reportedly claimed that as many as seven to eight people were accommodated on a single seat, with each passenger paying approximately Rs 4,000 for the journey.

The bus was allegedly operating without adequate safety arrangements, prompting authorities to detain the vehicle for further action.
