Goa, Sept. 13 -- Ahead of Ganesh Chaturthi, Konkan Railway Police conducted a special security-checking drive at Madgaon Railway Station to enhance passenger safety. During the operation, 12 individuals found without valid identification documents or journey tickets were taken to the Konkan Railway Police Station in Margao for verification. Police stated their presence raised suspicion of involvement in offences. They were arrested under Section 35(1) of the BNSS, 2023, and produced before the SDM, Margao, under Section 128 of the BNSS for further action. The SDM subsequently released all 12 individuals on personal bonds.
