117 prominent Indians, Pakistanis urge PM Modi and Shehbaz Sharif to restart dialogue
Goa, July 2 -- A group of 117 eminent personalities from India and Pakistan has jointly appealed to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Pakistan Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif to revive diplomatic dialogue and reopen official communication channels between the two countries. The signatories argued that sustained engagement is essential for promoting peace, stability and long-term prosperity across South Asia.
The appeal comes at a time when relations between the neighbouring countries remain strained following a series of security incidents and heightened diplomatic tensions. According to the letter, continued dialogue is necessary even when differences persist, as it provides an avenue to address difficult issues through peaceful means.
