Goa, Sept. 5 -- Congress leader and advocate Pratima Coutinho has criticised the BJP-led Goa government over the newly launched Ujjwala Scheme, questioning its earlier promise of providing three free LPG cylinders to Goan households every year.

Coutinho alleged that the latest announcement was an "election jumla", claiming that the government was making the promise with elections approaching.

"Where is your promise that Goans will get three cylinders free per year?" Coutinho asked, urging the government not to "fool Goans" with the announcement.

She further alleged that while beneficiaries may receive around Rs.3,000 in their bank accounts, the amount could effectively be recovered through increased costs after the elections.
