'There Should Be Room for Humanity': Omar Abdullah on Wangchuk's Hunger Strike
Goa, July 16 -- Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah on Thursday voiced support for educator and climate activist Sonam Wangchuk, who has been on an indefinite hunger strike at Delhi's Jantar Mantar for 19 days. Expressing concern over Wangchuk's declining health, Omar urged the Centre to intervene and appeal to him to end his fast, saying politics should leave space for compassion and humanity.
Speaking to reporters, Omar said he was surprised that the Centre had not engaged with Wangchuk despite reports of his deteriorating condition.
