'I Wanted to Start From Zero': Sanju Samson Explains Decision to Leave Rajasthan Royals
Goa, July 24 -- India wicketkeeper-batter Sanju Samson has opened up about his decision to leave Rajasthan Royals (RR) ahead of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026, calling it one of the biggest risks of his career. After spending 11 seasons with the Royals, Samson was traded to Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in a blockbuster deal that saw RR receive Ravindra Jadeja and Sam Curran in return.
Speaking on JioStar's Superstars, Samson revealed that he had already decided during the 2025 season that it would be his last with Rajasthan. He said the decision was not impulsive and came only after weeks of discussions with his family and wife.
