Goa, Oct. 5 -- India head coach Gautam Gambhir has revealed details of his conversations with teenage batter Vaibhav Sooryavanshi, explaining why the youngster had to wait for his opportunity despite being in impressive form.

Sooryavanshi, 15, has already made history in international cricket. Earlier this year, he became the youngest Indian to make his international debut when he played his first T20I against England at the age of 15 years and 99 days, surpassing Sachin Tendulkar's previous record.

He later added another milestone to his name by becoming the youngest player to score a half-century in men's international cricket. He reached the landmark against Zimbabwe at the age of 15 years and 118 days.
