Brief Summary: Stroke-associated pneumonia is a common and clinically important complication after acute ischemic stroke, especially in non-intubated patients with impaired consciousness and reduced cough or swallowing reflexes. Conventional oral or nasal suction may be insufficient for removing deep oropharyngeal secretions.
