Brief Summary: Young children often receive antibiotics for pediatric acute respiratory tract infections (ARTIs) - common childhood diagnoses like ear infections, strep throat, sinusitis, and colds - but many of these antibiotics are prescribed unnecessarily for viral infections, where antibiotics will not help.
