India, June 4 -- Life expectancy in Burkina Faso has increased significantly over the past six decades, with women consistently outliving men and the gap between the two widening over time.
Steady gains since 1960
Data covering 1960 to 2023 show substantial improvements in longevity for both genders. Female life expectancy rose from 37.3 years in 1960 to 63.2 years in 2023, while male life expectancy increased from 35.0 years to 58.9 years during the same period.
Women maintain longevity advantage
