India, June 4 -- Life expectancy in Bulgaria has risen steadily over the past six decades, with both women and men recording their highest levels in 2023, according to World Development Indicators data.
Long-Term Improvement
The data show that female life expectancy increased from 71.03 years in 1960 to 79.6 years in 2023. Male life expectancy rose from 67.55 years to 72.0 years during the same period.
* Female life expectancy gained 8.57 years over the 63-year period.
* Male life expectancy increased by 4.45 years.
Gender Gap Remains Significant
Women continued to live considerably longer than men in 2023. Female life expectancy stood at 79.6 years, compared with 72.0 years for males, resulting in a gap of 7.6 years.
