Decades of Progress In 1960, female life expectancy in the Bahamas stood at 65.382 years, while males lived an average of 59.434 years. By 1980, these figures had climbed to 72.555 for women and 65.962 for men. The data indicates consistent year-over-year growth throughout the mid-twentieth century.

Recent Fluctuations Longevity faced notable challenges in the late 2010s and early 2020s. Female expectancy dropped to 74.176 years in 2019 and 74.145 years in 2021.
