In 1960, life expectancy in Austria was 68.59 years. The country surpassed the 70-year mark for the first time in 1966, reaching 70.05 years. While the 1970 figure stood at 69.91 years, the upward trend resumed shortly after, hitting 71.01 years by 1973.
