Dehradun, 2 Mar: Dr SM Wilson, Chief Executive Officer of the Blackfoot Challenge (State of Montana, USA), met Governor Lt General Gurmit Singh (Retd) at the Lok Bhavan here on Monday.
On this occasion, Dr Wilson shared insights from his 20 years of research and experience on the issue of human-bear conflict. He stated that his research indicates bears are often attracted to populated areas due to the remains of dead livestock. In such cases, the scientific and safe disposal of animal carcasses is extremely important to reduce the attraction of bears toward human settlements.
