Dehradun, 6 Jun: Students of Kanya Gurukul in Dehradun staged a protest today against the reported move by Gurukul Kangri University management to shift four departments namely, Hindi, English, Sanskrit and History, from the Dehradun campus to the women's campus in Haridwar. The students expressed strong opposition to what they have described as an attempt to shut down the Dehradun campus, which has been dedicated to women's education for more than a century.

In a memorandum, the students alleged that the plan to vacate the Dehradun campus is a conspiracy to dismantle the institution and use the land for private gain. They said such a move would dishonour the legacy of their forebears and tarnish ...
