Pantnagar. 12 Jun: Dr Prem Lal Gautam, a renowned agricultural scientist, educationist, and institution builder, has been awarded the prestigious Padma Shri Award by the Government of India for his outstanding contributions to agricultural science, biodiversity conservation, and farmers' rights. He is currently the Chancellor of Dr Rajendra Prasad Central Agricultural University.

Dr Gautam served as Vice Chancellor of Govind Ballabh Pant University of Agriculture and Technology, Pantnagar, from 18 June 2002 to 11 October 2007.
