Dehradun, 16 Jul: District Magistrate Ashish Chauhan led a plantation drive by planting saplings in the Collectorate premises on the occasion of Harela. He joined the officials and the employees in planting trees and appealed to the residents of the district to undertake extensive plantation and pledge to protect the saplings they plant.

The DM stressed that Harela is not merely a traditional festival but a symbol of faith, sensitivity and responsibility towards nature, environment and life. He observed that Uttarakhand's rich folk culture has always conveyed the message of coexistence with nature and Harela is a living example of this tradition.
