Gairsain, 12 Mar: Participating in a discussion in the House, BJP MLA Shiv Arora demanded today that a population control law similar to the Uniform Civil Code (UCC) should be introduced in Uttarakhand. He raised this demand before the government during the ongoing Assembly session. Placing the issue before the Speaker in the Assembly, Arora said that demographic changes are taking place in Uttarakhand due to the growing population of a particular community and that a law was necessary to address the situation.
